Hi! And thanks for visiting!
Today there are many people who were not raised "in" the church, but are looking for more meaning and significance in their lives. Perhaps it's a realization that there must be more to life than just a 9-to-5 job. Or perhaps we need some way to help deal with the difficulties and disappointments that life has for each of us. Maybe our family life isn't what we think it should be. Often we go to great lengths and pains, trying to get ahead, to lose weight and look better, or buy more and better houses, cars, clothes or whatever to help us feel better. Sometimes this path to "instant gratification" can lead to really serious issues, like gambling problems, drinking problems, drugs, indiscriminate sex, and spousal abuse.
Sometimes people who haven't "grown up" in the church are reluctant to come to one, even when they think they might find answers there. They feel they might be judged, or that the people there are "better", somehow, or that they'll stand out or be embarrassed by havng to stand up and give their name or whatever.
First of all, members of churches ARE NOT perfect! Churches are just made up of people; all kinds of people. People who deal with the same issues that everyone else deals with; job security, marriage conflict, screaming kids, and many other temptations and distractions. We certainly couldn't hold ourselves up as "better than anyone else" by any standard whatsoever!
Second, we believe that is our responsibility as Christians to reach out to those in need, and to those who want a closer relationship with God, and bring them into our warm and comfortable family. We want to welcome EVERYONE! And, we don't ask you to stand up and introduce yourself, either! We don't embarass, look down on, or turn our backs on anyone, no matter who they are or what they may think of themselves. None of us is without sin, either.
We know that we are far from perfect, but by coming together each week to worship together, to listen to God's Word, and to join in fellowship, we can start each week feeling stronger and better! We remind each other not to give up, but to continue to have faith, faith in each other, and faith in God; not that He will keep us from experiencing life, but that He will give us the strength we need to get over the rough parts of the road. And, in these times, there sure seem to be a lot of potholes!
If you are looking for meaning in your life, for understanding, for a warm place where you will be welcome, and for new friends who will genuinely care about you, I hope you will consider joining us for our worship and our fellowship.
