Meet our Pastor

Hi!  I'm Pastor Ben Wilson, currently serving the Millersburg and North English United Methodist Churches, and the United Church of Deep River.

Looking back on my life, I can see the Hand of God guiding and directing me on many occasions, leading me to seek a deeper level of understanding of my life in relation to God's will, and greater spiritual growth as I try to become a better Christian, husband, father and servant of God.  In the churches I have belonged to over the years I have been a Lay Leader, then Certified Lay Speaker, but still felt that I needed to give more.  After carefully exploring my calling I came to understand that I needed to devote my life to ministry, preaching and teaching about the love of God for us, and how we may serve Him in our lives.  My appointment to the Three Rivers Parish and the United Church of Deep River has truly been a blessing to me and my family.

My wife Sue and I have been married for 33 years, and have three children; Kimberly (22), Jessica (21) and Rebecca (18).  We have cats and dogs, and in the past have had fish, birds and some other "exotic" pets.  We currently live in Montezuma, and commute to our respective jobs.  Sue works at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

You may have seen me riding the back roads of the county on my motorcycle, which is my prefered way of travel when the weather permits.  I try to wave to everyone, and most everybody waves back!  I hope that if you see me somewhere, you'll come up and introduce yourself, and I most especially hope you'll consider coming to our services on Sunday morning, and joining me and your neighbors as we worship God, and celebrate the gift of Salvation!

My goal is to help provide meaningful worship experiences, as we celebrate our faith through singing, praying, declaring God's word and teaching the lessons of the Bible, and how we can apply them in our lives to be better people.  We want to share our joy, and God's blessings with all our neighbors as we seek to share the Word of God here in our communities.

Come join us , and refresh your spirit as you grow closer to God!
