Don'tcha Hate It When...
Dontcha hate it when ya go back to a website and it hasn't been updated? Mea Culpa. There isn't enough time in the day to do all the things that need to be done, and I'm sorry for that. Keeping up this website has been one of those love/hate relationships; I like the opportunity to reach out, but at the same time it demands a suprising amount of time, which is sometimes in short supply.
I've been away for the office for most of the last three weeks, with some family obligations, our Annual Conference and preparing to move to a new appointment. More on that on the other page (from the Pastor's Pen).
Meantime, for you who have checked in from time to time, I hope there was something here you found inspiring, or at least thought-provoking. Most of the time what you read on this page is the actual sermon delivered in church the previous Sunday. They probably lose something, however, and perhaps in the future I'll find a way to upload the audio portion at least. Time (or lack of it) will tell.
I don't know what will happen to this website as I prepare to leave. That will be up to those who make decisions for the church, and perhaps most importantly for my successor. The possibility for much good is here, but it takes work and a comittment to timeliness, a lesson I have well learned!
Whatever happens, I leave wishing the very best to all those who have been a part of my ministry here at the Three Rivers Parish and the United Church of Deep River, as well of those of you that have been monitoring our site. I pray every blessing on you as you continue forward on your jouryeys of faith, and I covet your prayers as I move into new relationships, new challenges, and new opportunities for personal, professional and spiritual growth as well.
May God continue to bless us, and our great nation!
Pastor Ben
